Deray Carez is the non-profit extension of Deray Cutz, created to empower and uplift youth and underserved communities through education, mentorship, and community outreach.

To inspire and equip the next generation through opportunities that promote personal growth, skill development, and a strong sense of self-worth.

What We Do

1. Scholarships

We provide annual scholarships for high school graduates pursuing careers in business, barbering, or cosmetology. Our 2025 application is now open — Learn More ›

We offer hands-on mentorship for young men and women, providing tools to succeed in life, school, and career.

We host free haircut events, supply drives, and local partnerships that give back directly to the neighborhoods we serve.

PROGRAMS AND SERVICES

1. Youth Entrepreneurship Support

We provide young entrepreneurs with the resources, mentorship, and guidance they need to start and grow successful businesses.

2. Helping Families in Need

We step in to support families during challenging times by providing essential resources and assistance.

3. Scholarships for Students

We believe education is key to success. Our scholarship program helps teens pursuing college achieve their dreams.

4. Back-to-School Drives & Free Haircuts

We prepare students for success by organizing school supply drives and offering free haircuts to boost their confidence.

5. Elderly Support & Community Care

We assist seniors with free haircuts, yard work, and small household tasks to ensure they feel valued and cared for.

Fresh Cuts for the Future

Fresh Cuts for the Future is a monthly initiative by Deray Carez that celebrates hardworking single parents and the boys they’re raising.
Each month, we select one boy to receive a free full-service haircut and lunch at DC Grooming, where we make him feel like a young king.

Eligibility Requirements:

Must be a boy between ages 5–18
Must be raised by a single parent who is employed
You can nominate yourself or someone else
Only one nomination is selected per month
Submissions are due by the last day of each month

💈 The selected child will receive their service on the first Wednesday of the month.
Let’s celebrate our youth and empower our parents — one fresh cut at a time.

2025 College Scholarship

College Scholarship

Empowering Futures Through Education

At Deray Carez, we believe in building brighter futures by supporting young people from all walks of life. Our scholarship program is open to graduating high school seniors who are passionate about pursuing careers in business, barbering, or cosmetology.

Eligibility Requirements

Graduating Senior – Class of 2025
Enrollment – Planning to attend a college, trade school, or barber/cosmetology program
Fields of Interest – Business, Barbering, or Cosmetology
Open to – All genders

How to Apply

Submit a 30–45 second video answering the question:

“What are your plans after high school, and how will this scholarship help you get there?”

The Deray “Man Up” Scholarship

Now Open to Young Men & Women

This special scholarship recognizes students who show initiative, personal growth, and community involvement.

Eligibility:

Must be a client of DC Grooming
Enrolled or planning to enroll in college or trade school
Actively involved in community service or volunteer work

Annual Easter Egg Hunt

Join Us Saturday, April 4th at Lincoln Park – Egg Hunt Starts at 3:30 Sharp!

Deray Carez invites the community to our Annual Easter Egg Hunt, a free family-friendly event designed to bring smiles, fun, and unity to the kids and families of Anniston.

Due to weather, the event has been rescheduled to Saturday, April 4th from 3PM – 5PM at Lincoln Park, with the egg hunt starting promptly at 3:30 PM.

Families can enjoy a day filled with activities including an Easter egg hunt, jump house, face painting, food, and a special appearance from the Easter Bunny. We will also be giving away ultimate Easter baskets and prizes.

We are still welcoming donations and support from the community, including eggs, candy, and giveaway items. Local businesses and individuals are encouraged to participate and help make this event even more special.
